To work with shelters in Virginia, North Carolina, West Virginia and Tennessee to rescue herding breeds and mixes, rehabilitate them, tend to their medical needs and find them loving adoptive homes.
To provide donations of food and medical care to pet owners in times of need; thus keeping pets with loving families out of shelters.
To increase public awareness of the companion animal overpopulation issue and provide solutions to end the killing of adoptable animals.
To assist shelters and rescues with transport options.

Save Our Herders Outreach (SOHO) is an all-volunteer organization dedicated to herding breeds and herding mixed dogs in need.
We concentrate our rescue efforts in Virginia, North Carolina, West Virginia and parts of Tennessee. Most of our volunteers and fosters live in those states and share their homes with their own Border collies, Australian Shepherds, Australian Cattle Dogs, Working Kelpies, Corgis and/or Shetland Sheepdogs.
Our dogs come from several sources. Many come from high kill shelters where they were either found as strays or abandoned by their owners. Some were turned over to us by owners who could no longer care for them. Regardless of where they came from, our goal for every dog is the same - a forever home where they will be loved and considered a part of the family.
